Professional Development Programs

The Walter E. Heller College of Business offers professional development opportunities through national professional organizations such as the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (CEU’s), Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (CPE’s), Project Management Institute (PDU’s), and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CPE’s).

We strive to provide an opportunity for the busy adult to enroll in courses scheduled at convenient times and locations. Courses may be taken to meet certification requirements or may be taken for personal enrichment.


                                               

Retirement Planning

The Retirement Planning Course is a 3 session comprehensive personal finance course designed for those in the early stages of retirement or those about to retire. This course will walk you through difficult retirement decisions such as asset allocation, income planning & pitfalls to avoid. Course is based on recent academic research. You will receive financial tools to help you better understand risk, taxes, budgeting and estate planning.

Tuesdays May 7, 14, and 21. Choose either 10:00am - noon or 6:00pm - 8:00pm session.

Cost: $49 (Couples may attend for the price of one.)

Entrepreneurs LAB

The Entrepreneurs LAB program is designed to provide business and entrepreneur training to individuals interested in starting a business.  The program includes classroom instruction, mentoring and structured post-course support.  The program objective is for students to complete and present their business plan at the end of the course.

Boardroom Bound Group Boardology™ Institute Seminar 400

The Boardroom Bound Boardology™ Institute presents a director candidate development program in an intensive 2-day framework. It requires pre and post seminar work for prospective candidates to learn board service legalities plus the time, commitment, risks, liabilities and protocols of for-profit board service. Further, it is designed to equip participants with insights to conduct a successful appointment campaign through an Executive Search Firm or our Candidate Referral Service.
