Social Justice in Action

During the summer, Writing Center tutors, in conjunction with Roosevelt faculty, participate in a program for students from Chicago's Social Justice High School put on by the Polk Bros. Foundation and Roosevelt.  The program is a wonderful opportunity for these high school seniors to prepare for college and get a taste of campus life.  During their week on campus, the high school students work with composition instructors and Writing Center tutors.  This kind of community partnership corresponds with Roosevelt's social justice mission, and is also an important element of our work in the Writing Center.
