Leadership

We believe there is a leader within each of our students. Being a leader begins with self discovery, and we’re here to help you explore opportunities to find the leader within. We offer three programs to help with your discovery, The Leadership Workshop Series, the Eleanor Roosevelt Society and the Leadership Summit. These programs were created to enhance student’s leadership skills as well as to connect you to campus.

Leadership Development

Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI)

This institute provides incoming freshmen and new transfer students with an introduction to student success and community at Roosevelt University. Students learn foundational leadership skills and how to utilize campus resources. The institute meets once a week for 6 consecutive weeks at the beginning of the fall semester, and the sessions are facilitated by CSI and Student Services staff.

Eleanor Roosevelt Society (ERS)

This society incorporates leadership workshops, community excursions, weekly journaling, and a culminating leadership project. The program is designed to be an intensive six month program for students interested in exploring the connection between leadership and social justice. Students interested in this free leadership experience will be able to apply in the fall of each academic year.

Student Leadership Summit (SLS)

This program promotes leadership development, self-reflection, social justice, and overall partnerships between students and administrators.

The 2013 Leadership Summit will be held February 1-3, 2013.  Information for the 2013 Leadership Summit will be available during Fall 2012.

Student Leadership Awards

Every spring the Center for Student Involvement coordinates the Student Leadership Awards Ceremony.  The program recognizes outstanding students, student organizations, and members of the Roosevelt community who have contributed significantly and uniquely to enhance learning outside the classroom.

Each year, the Center for Student Involvement in Chicago coordinates the Student Leadership Awards program to recognize outstanding students, student organizations and members of the campus community who significantly enhance learning outside the classroom.  All currently enrolled Roosevelt students are eligible, and you can play a vital role in thanking and acknowledging these leaders by submitting nominations for these awards.

Some awards require a letter of recommendation or a listing of student involvement, so please review each award description and nomination form carefully for specific requirements.  Awards to be presented include:
