Green Commitments
Roosevelt is Committed to Being Green
Check out RU Green, and get involved at Roosevelt!
With this commitment also comes membership in several Green Organizations.
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education

AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) is an organization of colleges and universities working to advance environmental sustainability in higher education. It is very easy to sign up, since Roosevelt University is already a member institution registered to the website. You need your Roosevelt email address to create a password. Go to www.aashe.org , click on “create new account” at the top of the page toward the right-hand side, and fill in the details, using your Roosevelt email address. You will be prompted to log in after receiving a confirmation email from AASHE, using a password that they provide. Once you log in for the first time using the password that AASHE provides, change your password for security purposes.
U.S. Green Building Council
The USGBC (U. S. Green Building Council) is an organization committed to supporting and certifying green buildings. The USGBC developed the LEED rating systems for green buildings, systems that indicate which level a particular building is on, depending upon its sustainability practices and implementation. The Wabash Academic Center is registered with the USGBC to be LEED silver certified. Roosevelt is already a member of the USGBC, so an individual account under Roosevelt University will be needed to register. Go to www.usgbc.org/register to fill in all required fields: use Roosevelt University’s access ID number, 609428640180643, and click “submit your Registration” when finished filling out all required fields.
