Join us for a presentation and discussion with activist Beth Richie who will discuss her book, “Arrested Justice: Black Women, Violence and America’s Prison Nation.” The book focuses on the increased threat of violence of black women which she illustrates through moving stories of women who have been victimized and are especially vulnerable as a result of the numerous inequalities they face in their lives and how these inequalities lead to their criminalization and the buildup of the prison nation. Sponsored by the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation, the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the Black Student Union, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Department of Sociology.
