The St. Clair Drake Center for African and African American Studies and the Center for New Deal Studies are co-sponsoring a lecture with Brian Dolinar, PhD, who has most recently taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Dolinar is the recent editor of "The Negro in Illinois: The WPA Papers" (2013, University of Illinois Press). This is the second in a series of three lectures sponsored by the Murray-Green Library and the St. Clair Drake Center, with generous support from Robert and Rose Johnson, to honor and reflect upon the themes of St. Clair Drake’s lectures in 1963 – 100 years after Emancipation.
