Join President Charles Middleton and Roosevelt faculty, staff, alumni and friends as we remember the life and scholarship of Professor St. Clair Drake and celebrate the work of the center that is his namesake.

INTRODUCTION by Professor Al Bennett, director of the St. Clair Drake Center, about the history of the center and ways to get involved.

DISCUSSION by Dr. Darlene Clark Hine (BA , ’68), Board of Trustees Professor of African American Studies and Professor of History at Northwestern University, and Associate Professor Erik Gellman, Associate Director of the center, about the recent publication of an anthology on the Black Chicago Renaissance.

PERFORMANCES by Chicago College of Performing Arts students and the University’s award-winning Proclaim Gospel Choir.

STORIES by Professor St. Clair Drake’s former students, who are encouraged to attend and share their experiences during an open mic session.
