To make a long distance call outside of the Chicagoland area from any campus telephone you will need a long distance authorization code. Long distance charges apply and are charged to the department. Long distance codes are unique to the employee and must not be shared.
Any employee who needs to make long distance calls as part of their official duties.
The department makes a request on behalf of the employee via the New Employee form.
If you change departments, your long distance code goes with you. However, you must reauthorize it, because your new position may or may not require use of long distance services. To do this, your new department files the New Employee form with a request to continue your use of the long distance code.
If you experience problems using your long distance code, please contact the Help Desk at 312.341.6460.
