Posted: 02/21/2012

The Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women Leaders in Real Estate Initiative will present an evening of speed networking and lively conversation for real estate students and professionals at 5:30 p.m. March 6 at Quarles & Brady, LLP, 300 N. LaSalle St., Chicago.

A keynote address will be delivered by Hedy M. Radner, founder and co-president of the Women’s Business Development Center,  which is the largest, oldest, and most comprehensive women’s business assistance center in the United States.

An advocate and activist for women’s issues for more than 40 years, Radner has made significant contributions to national, state and local organizations as a member of the National Women’s Business Council, the Illinois Economic Recovery Commission and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Blue Ribbon Council on Minority and Women’s Business programs, among others.

A founding member of the Illinois Women’s Business Ownership Council and the Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women in Illinois, Radner has received widespread recognition for her work. She is a recipient of the 2011 U.S. Small Business Administration Women’s Business Center Award for the nine-state Midwest region, the University of Chicago’s first Diversity Leadership Award and the Network of Women Entrepreneurs Who Dare Award, among others.

The evening will be moderated by Paige Steers, who has been a Goldie Scholar and is the senior vice president – Americas, Jones, Lang, LaSalle. Both students and professionals will learn about the importance of crafting the elevator speech, building a personal brand and negotiating office politics.

The event, “Speed Networking for Personal and Professional Success,” is part of the 2012 Leadership Series sponsored by Roosevelt University’s Goldie B. Wolfe Miller Women in Real Estate Initiative. Cost is $30 for one person, and $50 for those who bring a colleague or friend.
