Alpha Sigma Gamma Seal 

Created in 1993, The Alpha Sigma Gamma Society is the premier international organization for the recognition of academic and scholarly achievement by real estate students, real estate faculty and real estate professionals.  ASG has over two dozen chapters in major universities and colleges.  Membership is based on scholarly achievement.

Members receive a membership certificate, lapel pin,  and a complimentary copy of The Commercial Real Estate Education, Career and Resource Guide, a useful handbook of information on university undergraduate and graduate academic real estate programs, real estate careers, and professional organizations.

In addition members are encouraged to take advantage of the resume and job position posting website offered by ASG and the American Real Estate Society at www.real-jobs.com.

Membership Criteria

Undergraduate Students

  1. Have completed a minimum seventy-five percent (75%) of the total credit hours required for a bachelor's degree (senior level status).
  2. Have completed the equivalent of a minimum six (6) semester hours of real estate  and/or real estate related courses.
  3. Have a grade point average of 3.50 or better on a four-point scale for all real estate and related courses or the equivalent.
  4. Have a grade point average of 3.25 or better on a four-point scale for all college level courses undertaken.
  5. Have a good academic standing at the institution.

Graduate Students - Master's Level

  1. Have completed a minimum of fifty percent (50%) of the total credit hours required for the Master's degree.
  2. Have completed the equivalent of a minimum of six (6) semester hours in real estate and related courses or the equivalent.
  3. Have  a grade point average of 3.75 or better on a four-point scale for graduate real estate and related coursework.
  4. Have a grade point average of 3.50 or better on a four-point scale for all graduate course work in the student's Master program.
  5. Have good academic standing at the institution.

Graduate Students - Doctoral

  1. Have made substantial progress in the required work for the doctoral degree.
  2. Have completed a  minimum of nine (9) semester hours of real estate and related course work or the equivalent.
  3. Have a grade point average of 3.75 or better on a four-point scale on for graduate real estate and related coursework.
  4. Have demonstrated the ability to successfully complete a doctoral degree program.
  5. Have a good academic standing at the institution.

Faculty Members

  1. Faculty members must have exhibited superior teaching ability in real estate or real estate related courses.
  2. Have a strong research record and agenda with publications academic and professional real estate journals.
  3. Have an outstanding record of service in academic and professional activities.
  4. Faculty must be affiliated with a university an Alpha Sigma Gamma Society chapter or be recommended by a current faculty member.

Honorary Members

  1. Honorary members must be recognized leader in their chosen real estate profession.
  2. Honorary members must have exhibited an outstanding commitment to real estate education and to real estate students.
  3. Honorary members must be recommended by an Alpha Sigma Gamma Society member or by a Chapter President.
