Accessible Seating

Accessible Seating for Commencement

Congratulations!  Here is some information to make your accessible seating experience go smoothly.

If you are a guest who requires accessible seating for any reason, please enter the building at 425 S. Wabash, Chicago, IL 60605. On the day of commencement, these doors will open one hour and thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony you are attending.  If you need accessible seating, please see an usher in the Auditorium Theatre for assistance.

The historical Auditorium Theatre has limited space available for guests requiring accessible seating for wheelchairs; requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis as guests arrive. If a guest is seated in a wheelchair accessible area, up to 4 escorts may accompany each guest with a disability due to limited seating, and other guests will be directed to the general seating areas.

An ASL interpreter will be present at the ceremony.

Please Note: If you are a graduating student who requires accessible seating, please call 312.341.2004 several days before your Commencement Ceremony so that we can make arrangements with you ahead of time.

For questions regarding accessible seating, please call the Office of Student Services at 312.341.2004.
