Student-At-Large Status

Undergraduate Level

Students who are not actively seeking a degree at Roosevelt University but would like to enroll in academic programs may register for undergraduate courses as students at-large. Financial aid, including loans, is not available to students in this category. There is no application fee.

A grade point average of 2.00 (C) or better is required during each semester of at-large enrollment. At-large students who fail to maintain a grade point average of 2.00 or better will not be eligible to return to Roosevelt University as a student at-large. A maximum of 15 semester hours of credit earned in student at-large status may be applied toward a bachelor's degree at Roosevelt University. Course work completed under student at-large status may or may not be applicable to a degree program and is subject to the approval by the appropriate advisor and/or department chair.

Students at-large register in person or by fax. The Undergraduate Student at-Large Registration Form must be submitted to the Registrar Office on either campus.  The registration online is not available for non-degree seeking students.

Graduate Level

Graduate students who want to take a course as a student-at-large must be admitted as graduate students at-large.

1. Contact the Graduate Admission Office in Room 110 in Schaumburg (847) 619-7286 and fill out the Graduate Student-At-Large Admission Application.  Not all colleges allow students at-large to take graduate level classes. 
2. A transcript documenting at least the Bachelor's degree earned is required.
3. The required GPA is at least 2.7.  Students who have a GPA lower than 2.7 but higher than 2.5 may petition for probationary status.  Some programs require higher GPA.  Please contact the appropriate department. 
4. A maximum of 9 semester hours of credit earned in non-degree seeking status may be applied toward a graduate degree at Roosevelt University. 
5. The application fee is $25.00. 

** Roosevelt University Graduates do not need to submit their transcripts. The Graduate Student-At-Large Admission Application needs to be filled out, however the application fee of $25.00 is waived.
