The UC is a modern residence hall that houses all types of students. Students from Roosevelt University, De Paul University, Columbia College and Robert Morris University reside in this building. Students are assigned only to live with students from their school. The UC is located at 525 S. State Street just 1/2 block west of Roosevelt's Auditorium Building.

The room types consist of the following:

• 2 Bedroom Suite – 2 bedrooms with 2 students per bedroom and one bathroom. These rooms do not have kitchens and require meal plans.
• 1 Bedroom Double Suite – 1 bedroom with 2 students and one bathroom. These rooms do not have kitchens and require meal plans.
• Studio Single Suite – 1 person in a suite with one bathroom. These rooms do not have kitchens and require meal plans. Very few of these rooms are available to students.
• 2 Bedroom Shared Apartment – 2 bedrooms with 2 students per bedroom, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room. This apartment does not require a meal plan.
• 4 Bedroom Private Apartment – 4 individual bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room. This apartment does not require a meal plan.
• Studio Single Apartment – 1 person, bathroom, kitchen, living area. This apartment does not require a meal plan.

All of these room types are available on standard (floors 3–14) and premium (floors 15-18) floors. Prices vary per room type and standard versus premium floors. Freshmen are assigned to suite style rooms.
