Confirm your placement in English and math courses. The Roosevelt University Assessment (RUA) is used to assure that students are prepared to be academically successful at Roosevelt. If you are a freshman with ACT or SAT scores received within the last 2 years and have completed no English or math since the test was taken, your placement in English and math will be determined by these scores. If you do not have those scores, you will take both parts of the RUA before registering for classes. Transfer students are required to take the English portion of the RUA but may not have to take the math portion if they have transferable math appropriate for their degree. Contact the Advising Center at advising@roosevelt.edu to see if this requirement can be waived.
- If the RUA is indicated, visit www.roosevelt.edu/RUA to see the schedule of available times, register for the RUA, and take the sample test. If you have questions, contact the Academic Advising Office in Chicago at (312) 341-4340 or Schaumburg at (847) 619-7930.
Meet with your Academic Advisor and Register for classes. After determining English and math placement, schedule an appointment with an advisor who will help you select your classes. To make an appointment, call the Advising Center at (312) 341-4340 (Chicago Campus) or (847) 619-7930 (Schaumburg Campus).
Attend New Student Orientation.
Attend New Student Orientation. As a new undergraduate student, your first opportunity to get acclimated to campus is New Student Orientation! All students are required to participate in an orientation program. You will learn all you need to know about student services, and have a chance to meet other new students along with current university faculty, staff, and students. Chicago students: You will attend a one-day New Student Orientation program after your have registered for classes. Your ID card must be validated each semester with a sticker that can be obtained from the Registrar's Office. The ID card is used to check out materials from the library, obtain admission to university and student activities, order official transcripts, etc.
Final School Transcripts. If you have not done so already, you must submit final copies of official transcript(s) from all educational institutions that you have previously attended. This is necessary to complete your admission file. If you are currently enrolled in classes at another institution, arrange now to have an official copy of your final transcripts sent to Roosevelt, after your final grades are posted.
