Needle Exchange Debate
Roosevelt University Calendar of Events

Wednesday, November 18, 2009
Schaumburg Room 810
4:30 PM

GLBT-Str8 Alliance and SPEED present another Great Debate series forum...and this time, we are discussing the Needle Exchange Program. The Needle Exchange Program is an initiative set up to decrease the transmission of HIV among intravenous drug users who share needles and syringes. It is a program with defenders and attackers. The documentary To Do No Harm—which takes a real life look at the Needle Exchange Program—will be shown and a discussion will follow. The Executive Director of the Chicago Recovery Alliance and Zoe Lehman of the Chicago Women’s AIDS Project will be our guest speakers. There will also be an opportunity for students and faculty to get tested for HIV. Come to get educated, voice your concerns, and take a stand on this controversial issue!
