College Committees Executive Committee makes recommendations to the President regarding promotions and the granting of tenure. It shall constitute a Board of Elections to conduct all elections and votes of confidence held by the College Council and by the faculty of the college. Five members are elected annually from among the tenured faculty. 2009-2010 Members
Field Service Committee deals with matters of policy that pertain to college graduate and undergraduate courses that are designed to provide practicum (broadly defined) learning experiences to students. The committee shall also recommend on policy concerning field placement, development and strengthening of field practicum, the training of field supervisors, preclinical field placement, and field based methods courses. It shall meet a minimum of once each semester. All recommendations from the committee go to the Academic Council for discussion and vote. (There should be representation from each program area.)
Members
Professional Development Committee Supports faculty research efforts, sponsors the Ruta Baltrukenas Research Seminars, helps faculty identify best practices in college teaching, and facilitates sharing the expertise of the College with the wider education community. The committee shall meet a minimum of one time each semester. Members
Technology and Information Services Committee provides leadership for the integration of technology into the preparation of all candidates. Members
Continuous Improvement Committee coordinates the implementation of the College Assessment Plan developed for NCATE, CACREP, and ISBE; recommends changes in the plan; develops and plans for new and existing programs and the inter-relatedness among program areas. Hears and makes recommendations regarding new courses. Recommendations of the committee go to Academic Council for discussion and vote before going to the College Council. Members
Partnership Development Committee solicits the input of faculty in identifying, developing and supporting established and new school partnerships. The committee shall also recommend on policy concerning the development of Professional Development School (PDS) models. All recommendations from the committee go to the Academic Council for discussion and vote. Committee members will be responsible for eliciting partnership support from their program area. The committee shall meet a minimum of once each semester. (There should be representation from each program area.) Members
Student Services Committee (New committee created by the dean – fully staffed) deals with matters of policy and assessment that pertain to the quality of student experiences, including the topics of admission & recruitment, non-instructional student activities, instructional and non-instructional support, and student satisfaction. It shall meet a minimum of once each semester. All recommendations from the committee go to the Academic Council for discussion and vote. (There should be representation from each program area.)
