Roosevelt University Teacher Certification Programs
Certification | College of Education

Roosevelt University is authorized by the Illinois State Board of Education to recommend candidates for state certification by "entitlement" once they have met state and university certification requirements. Under the entitlement system, recommended candidates may receive their certificates by taking and passing any remaining state-required tests, completing the appropriate paperwork, and paying the appropriate fee. There is no further academic review of their qualifications.

Roosevelt University offers four initial teacher certification programs that have been approved by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and that, upon successful completion, entitle a student to an Illinois certificate.

These programs are described according to the type of certificate.

Early Childhood Education Certificate - Undergraduate Program (Type 04)

Early Childhood Education Certificate - Graduate Program (Type 04)

Elementary Education Certificate - (Type 03)

Secondary Education Certificate (Type 09)

Special (P-21) Certificate - Undergraduate Program (Type 10)

Special (P-21) Certificate - Graduate Program (Type 10)
