Special Education - Graduate Based on a core belief that all children can learn, the special education program area is a community of teachers and life long learners committed to preparing special educators who will collaborate with general education teachers, parents, support staff, and administration to provide the best possible learning experiences for children of all abilities. The graduate program provides coursework and experiences to help you integrate foundations into practice. Students graduating from the special education program will earn a master’s degree and Type 10 certification with LBSI endorsement. They will be highly qualified to teach children from PreK-age 21 within the LBSI spectrum. Students in the special education program have the opportunity to work with children in a variety of setting options including alternative and/or self contained classrooms, resource rooms with push in or pull out programs, and inclusion settings where children’s special educational needs are met in the general education classroom. The faculty members of the special education program area look forward to meeting you and to helping you reach your educational goals.
