Welcome to Secondary Education (SEED)

This page is designed to provide easy access to a wide variety of information for persons making their first inquiry or requiring specific details for completion of the Secondary program.  SEED is designed for students who wish to become teachers in grades 6-12 who have or are seeking academic majors in business, English, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and social studies.  (Students interested in teaching Theater Arts can pursue an endorsement in theater as a part of an English major.)

For admission, students must have an overall grade point average of 2.7 or higher. Students must also pass the Illinois Basic Skills test prior to taking Education courses.  If you have questions about the program, but you have not been admitted, please contact Admissions, 312-341-3515 (Chicago) or 847-619-8600 (Schaumburg).

We are sure you will find interesting and stimulating coursework as well as friendly, knowledgeable and helpful faculty advisors to assist you in planning and completing your program of study.
