The English Language Program

The English Language Program offers academic English as a Second Language (ESL) classes that prepare non-native speakers of English for study at the graduate or undergraduate level.

The majority of ELP students are on F-1 (full-time) student visas and have been admitted to Roosevelt University for degree work.  These are students who have not taken TOEFL or who have not met Roosevelt University’s English proficiency requirements. Non-degree students who are interested in studying ESL may apply for admission to the University as ELP Only students.  In addition to F-1 students, ELP welcomes students who have visas such as H1-B, H-4, and A-2, and those who are U.S. residents and citizens.  All ELP students must have the equivalent of a high school diploma.
