| Student Accounts | News Regarding Parent Plus Loans In an effort to implement “best practices” consistent with other higher education institutions, the Office of Student Accounts has implemented new upgrades to its financial software that will enable more efficient processing of refunds to students. Part of this upgrade will affect how students with Federal Parent Plus Loans receive their credit refunds, if any.
Roosevelt has the right under federal guidelines to determine how financial aid is applied to a student’s account. The Federal Parent Plus Loan is now applied first to the student account balance. In most cases, any refund due to the student will be generated from aid other than the Parent Plus Loan. In situations where a refund is generated from Federal Plus Loans, refunds will be issued either to the student or to the parent in accordance with authorization forms on file in the financial aid office. In most instances, refunds under the new system will be issued directly to the student.
Refunds going directly to students will go through Higher One, either to the student’s Easy Refund Card or to be directly deposited to a checking account based on the refund preference selected by the student.
The Higher One Easy Refund Card is mailed to all registered students. If a card was not received, or if you have any questions, please contact our office at (312) 341-3570.
Sincerely,
Office of Student Accounts
