Bachelor's in Elementary Education, BAE

The BA in Elementary Education (ELED) prepares teacher candidates to address the learning and socio-emotional needs of children in grades 1-6. This intensive, field-based program prepares every candidate to work democratically with diverse children and families, including those with special needs and second language backgrounds. It leads to an Illinois teaching license with the option of adding endorsements in areas such as special education, reading and ESL/bilingual education.

Job-embedded Learning

Our program makes it easy for full-time subs and teaching assistants to fulfill required field experiences and earn a teaching license. The program has a 100% pass rate on the edTPA--the capstone assessment required for teacher licensure in Illinois. Students also gain real-world experience at Schaumburg and Chicago Public Schools.
