The pantry's primary focus is to service students who do not have financial means to sustain a nutritionally rich diet and those who do not have access to an on campus meal plan or other options to fulfill their dietary needs. The pantry provides perishable and non-perishable food items in addition to hygiene products. Students are able to access the pantry once a week but without limitations to the numbers of items they may take with them.

Service opportunities through the Greater Chicago Food Depository directly impact RU's Food and Toiletry Pantry. As an agency with GCFD we have the opportunity to accumulate credit via volunteer hours. Credits allow us to make "purchases" with the depository for specialty food items, for the pantry throughout the year. Volunteers may earn up to $12, per person, in credit per each individual participant. Please utilize our agency number during your next service day with GCFD to ensure we receive the credit.
We're always looking for donations of the items above. Donations can be dropped off at the Counseling Center (AUD470), Center for Student Involvement (WB323), Residence Life (WB 1411) and Multicultural Student Support Services (AUD 104). You can also donate the remaining funds on your meal plan at the end of the year.
Monetary donations are also welcome. Please visit the giving website to make a contribution and specifically note the donation is intended for the student pantry. If you are an employee of Roosevelt University you can utilize the payroll deduction for a one-time or reoccurring submission.
