A Health Science degree from Roosevelt provides students with a deep understanding of human health, patient care improvement, and advancements in various medical fields. Incoming Freshman at our Chicago campus may also choose the pre-Nursing designation, which provides the foundational courses needed to prepare for the rigors of nursing school. In addition to those who are interested in pre-Nursing, the Health Science program is an excellent choice for any student who plans to pursue graduate studies in public health administration or a professional degree to become a doctor, physician assistant, or therapist. Health Science will also be offered at our Schaumburg campus for new incoming Transfer students beginning in Fall 2025. The pre-Nursing program will only be available to Freshman at the Chicago campus.
The pre-Nursing program provides general education courses in introductory biology, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and chemistry, as well as courses in psychology and other relevant fields. After the first year in pre-Nursing if a student has completed the required courses with minimum grade of C, earned a GPA of 2.75 or higher, and a HESI 2 test score of 78% or higher, they will be considered for acceptance into Roosevelt’s BS Nursing program.
