Praised by The Boston Globe for his “subtle, graceful virtuosity” and hailed as a “Vietnamese Guitar Virtuoso” by Austin Classical Guitar, An Tran captivates audiences with his musicality and artistry. He has performed at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including the Guitar Society of Toronto, Segovia Classical Guitar Series, New York City Classical Guitar Society, New Orleans International Guitar Festival, Saigon International Guitar Festival, Mahidol International Classical Guitar Forum, and Hanoi International Guitar Festival.
An’s critically acclaimed recordings include Napoléon Coste: Guitar Works, Vol. 6 (Naxos) and his debut album Stay, My Beloved (Frameworks/Sony Orchard), which showcases Vietnamese guitar music and was named a 2020 “Recording of the Year” by the Chicago Tribune.
A laureate of numerous international competitions, An has been featured on programs like Performance Today and Classical Guitar Alive! He is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Chicago Artopia, a nonprofit bringing accessible art and cultural events to the community. An is a D’Addario Artist, performing on guitars by Stephan Connor.
