The Office of Residence Life, in partnership with the Housing and Food Insecurity Taskforce (HFI) has set up an Emergency Housing suite within the Wabash Building. With housing and food insecurity becoming more prevalent threats to the safety and stability of our students, Emergency Housing is a resource designed to help retain and support RU students through moments of crisis. The current space is set up to house up to 3 students at any given time. Students in need of Emergency Housing should contact the Office of Residence Life.
This resource is for any enrolled Roosevelt University student who is experiencing a crisis and needs a temporary place to stay overnight.
Students experiencing housing or home insecurity that are interested in staying in Emergency Housing, should go to the Office of Residence Life, located on the 14th floor of the Wabash Building (During business hours, M-F 9-5pm), or a campus safety desk between the hours of 5-11pm. Once there, the student should share that they are looking to check-in to Emergency Housing.
Students who experience housing insecurity may be impacted differently. Showering services provide students a semi private suite to shower. The shower is located in the emergency housing suite so there may be other students utilizing the space at the time of the shower request. This is a resource for all enrolled Roosevelt Students.
Similar to emergency housing, students should visit the Office of Residence Life, located on the 14th floor of the Wabash Building and inform the Campus Security Office they are looking to request showering services. Prior to being granted access, the Office of Residence Life will be contacted, will be asked to show their University ID and to complete a request form.
Services are available Monday – Friday, 9am-11pm. Towels and toiletries are provided however, if able, students are encouraged to bring their own.
