What is the LAKER Book BUNDLE?
Laker Book Bundle is a course material model that lowers the cost of materials for students and ensures students have access to all of their required course materials on or before the first day of class. Through this new program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and digital materials will be delivered directly within Blackboard. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.
The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to eligible students.
The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, engineering kits or nursing kits.
Currently, the program is available to all students (grad, undergrad, full-time & part-time) with the exception of pharmacy and specialized coursework such as Independent Studies, Practicum, Thesis, and Fieldwork.
All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in Laker Book Bundle.
There will be a line item charge of $22.50 per credit hour on your student account. This can be paid in the same manner in which you pay your tuition.
Yes, the program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period.
Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester of the continuation course.
The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their email address.
Rented materials not returned by the rental return date or returned on or before that date not in salable condition will be subject to non-return processing fees equal to 75% of the new book price (at the time of rental) plus a 7.5% non-return processing fee. This amount will be billed to the student from Barnes & Noble and will need to be paid to Barnes & Noble directly.
Yes. Between December 22, 2024 - February 5, 2025, you will be able to opt out of the Laker Book Bundle.
