In recognition of Roosevelt University’s upcoming 80th Anniversary, we’re launching The Oral History Project. This project provides you—our alumni—the opportunity to share your unique connection with Roosevelt University. We want you to tell your RU story in your own words. After the collection is complete, these unique stories will be compiled into a book that celebrates our alma mater and our illustrious history.
Our partnership with PCI
Roosevelt has partnered with Publishing Concepts, Inc. (PCI) for this project. In addition to collecting stories, PCI will assist Roosevelt with collecting updated biographic information. Your participation will ensure we have the best information available to stay connected with you.
What to expect
Communications
Alumni will receive a postcard and/or email from PCI on how to share your story. Stories will be collected via a phone call with a trained member of the PCI team. Above is a sample of these communications.
Telling your story
Here are a few questions to consider when sharing your story:
Were you on campus during a historical moment? What is your most memorable Roosevelt experience?
How did you benefit from Roosevelt’s long-standing tradition of making a college education possible for underserved and historically marginalized populations?
How has Roosevelt’s social justice mission inspired you personally and professionally? What does it mean to you today, and how did it change your perspective?
Were there particular faculty or staff members that supported you through your RU education?
How did Roosevelt prepare you to succeed academically through unique learning opportunities?
Of which personal and/or professional milestones are you most proud?
Making a Purchase
The Roosevelt University Oral History Project publication, honoring the 80th Anniversary, is available for purchase only to Roosevelt alumni. Participants will also have access to a special edition t-shirt and/or tote bag.
