Be a Mentee

Requirements for mentees in the Professional Mentoring Program:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Full-time student status (enrolled in 12 credit hours or more)
  • Some organization involvement or previous work experience
  • Ability to commit for one academic year

Be a Mentor

Requirements for mentors in the Professional Mentoring Program:

  • Full-time working status for 1 year or more within the industry
  • Availability to collaborate with students on career planning and coaching
  • Ability to facilitate workshops in person or virtually
  • Ability to commit for one academic year

Mentoring Partnerships

Mentees are partnered with mentors who have professional experiences related to their interests. Each mentoring pair establishes their own schedule. Meetings can take place in any location or format that works for them. Mentoring experiences can include:

  • Collaborating to establish goals for professional growth 
  • Expanding career-based knowledge and awareness of professional opportunities 
  • Discussing networking methods or teaming up to network together 
  • Reviewing skills, knowledge, and abilities needed for certain career paths 
  • Developmental opportunities, such as job shadowing, or informational interviews
