About Me
Chuck Larkin is an arranger/composer, pianist, and musical director, with Chicago theatre credits including Northlight Theatre (MR. DICKENS’ HAT, SHINING LIVES, A CIVIL WAR CHRISTMAS, AT WITS’ END) and Porchlight Theatre (FAR FROM HEAVEN, NEW FACES OF 1956). He served as associate conductor for JERSEY BOYS (Chicago Company 2007-2010 and National Tour 2011-2014), and as musical director for three seasons of American Folklore Theatre (Northern Sky) in Door County, Wisconsin. Chuck was a pianist/conductor for three summer seasons at Opryland USA in Nashville, TN, and has performed in dozens of cabaret and concert venues in Chicago and nationally.
Composing credits include the award-winning RIVER’S END with playwright/lyricist Cheryl Coons (ASCAP’s Harold Arlen Award, Bay Area Critics Circle Award for ‘Best Original Score’ at Marin Theatre Company, NAMT, NYMF). KEEP ME IN LOVE, a full-length showcase of his solo songwriting, was named Chicago’s #1 “After Dark” Cabaret Show of 2000, and he was a featured songwriter in the ASCAP/MAC New York showcase, Chicago Humanities Festival, and in Michael Feinstein’s “Now & Then” tribute to Irving Berlin at Carnegie Hall.
Chuck Larkin studied Commercial Music (Composition/Arranging Concentration, Vocal/Piano principal) at Belmont University, Nashville, TN, from Spring 1984 through Fall 1985, and Commercial Music (Piano principal) at Millikin University, Decatur, IL, from Fall 1981 through Fall 1983.
