It’s a mantra repeated frequently in Kentwood Public Schools, and one that Hamilla feels the reality of since moving from Chicago to West Michigan in early summer and starting as the new Glenwood Elementary principal."

Hamilla received her master's in Teacher Leadership from Roosevelt University.

David Faris is a Professor of Political Science at Roosevelt University.

"'Parents are often tempted to quickly provide blanket reassurances to their children to make them feel better,' says Steven A. Meyers, PhD, a clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at Roosevelt University in Chicago. 'We instinctively say things like, ‘Of course you’re safe’ or ‘That can never happen here.’ This has the effect of hurrying the conversation and means you’re not carefully listening to your children’s concerns.'"

Dr. Meyers is a Professor of Psychology at Roosevelt University.

Gomez received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Roosevelt University.

"'When listening to me play Vietnamese music, students are often very excited and curious. There are techniques and tones they have never been exposed to, so after the performance they often come to ask more questions to understand better. It is also an interesting way for me to share my culture and encourage them to find their own voice in music,' said the guitar doctor."

Dr. An Tran is the Guitar Professor at Roosevelt University.

Dr. Rung is a Professor of History and the Director of the Center for New Deal Studies at Roosevelt University.
