Roosevelt University is proud to the announce the appointment of Dr. Glen H. Brodowsky as the new dean of the Heller College of Business. Dr. Brodowsky’s tenure will begin on July 1.
Dr. Brodowsky comes to Roosevelt from California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), where he served as a faculty member for 28 years. He has taught courses in marketing, marketing research, global marketing and consumer behavior at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition to his courses, Dr. Brodowsky has served as chair of both the management and marketing departments, while also chairing CSUSM’s Academic Senate to represent his campus on the Statewide Academic Senate for over a decade. Dr. Brodowsky had this to say of his new position:
“I am excited to build upon the solid foundation established by Dean Petty and his team. My goal is to raise the profile of the Heller College of Business among potential students, employers and community partners, showcasing how Roosevelt University can be a driving force in the future of Chicago.”
In 2007, Dr. Brodowsky was a Fulbright Scholar teaching at National Chengchi University in Taiwan. He continues to return to Taiwan to teach in their international MBA program each year. He has also lectured at the China European International Business School, and has guest lectured at many universities throughout Taiwan and China. Additionally, Dr. Brodowsky has lectured at the Copenhagen Business School International Summer University Program for 10 summers and has taught a specialized course at the Universidad Internacional del Ecuador five times. His research interests include cross-cultural marketing, with an emphasis on how cross-cultural differences in notions of and attitudes toward time affect consumer behavior. With an impressive number of academic journal publications, Dr. Brodowsky has also served as the president of the Marketing Educators’ Association as well as the co-editor of the Handbook of Cross-Cultural Marketing and the Handbook of Ethnic and Intra-Cultural Marketing.
Dr. Brodowsky received his PhD in marketing and MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He holds a BA in far Eastern languages and civilizations from the University of Chicago and speaks Mandarin Chinese. Roosevelt’s interim provost and executive vice president of academic affairs Dr. Mike Maly states, “We are elated to welcome Dr. Brodowsky to the Heller College of Business. The Roosevelt community will immeasurably benefit from his international acumen and proven experience as an exemplary leader.”
